~~Aloha Soul Hawaiian Yoga Retreat!~~
July 18-26, 2017
This retreat is sold out – future dates will be scheduled soon! I am thrilled to announce my second Aloha Soul Hawaiian Yoga Retreat – July 18-26, 2017! This special offering comes around once every two years and it would be such a joy to share it with you.
Hawaii Island, also known as the Big Island, is a second home to me, where I discovered my love of yoga over a decade ago and cultivated the Aloha Soul outlook that I hold close to my heart each day. I led my first retreat on Hawaii two years ago, with an incredible group of yogis who gathered for a week in paradise to form deep connections, grow their yoga and meditation practices, and of course be nourished by the warmth and beauty of this singular place and culture.
Our 2017 retreat will offer all of that and more. This longer retreat will consist of 8 nights and 7 full days, allowing us to enjoy and explore even more of the island. We will spend our first five nights at Hawaii Island Retreat, a stunningly beautiful eco-boutique hotel and spa set amidst towering evergreens and ocean breezes along the North Kohala coast. Luxury accommodations with private bathrooms, healthy and delicious meals, use of the hotel and spa facilities such as the hot tub and saltwater infinity pool (we practically lived there during the last retreat), and a 15% discount on spa treatments will all be included. Hawaii Island Retreat is a truly gorgeous and luxurious setting that will take your breath away! We will be sure to check out the pristine white sand beaches on the western side of the island, the “Kona side”, during our stay at HIR. I’ll bring a few snorkels to share!
Next we will head to the eastern side of the island for three nights at Your Hawaiian Retreat, an exotic abode located on an organic farm at the edge of the rain forest. The Bali huts and cottages, covered redwood decks with sunrise and ocean views, and open beamed main house with 16-foot ceilings and polished pacific island hardwood floors, combined with the renowned hospitality of our sweet hosts Elvie and Hugh, will make this an unforgettable experience. Single or double occupancy bedrooms are available at Your Hawaiian Retreat, though all bathrooms are shared and conveniently located close to the bedrooms. We will again be treated to wonderful locally-based, made-with-love meals that will nourish body and spirit. This “Puna Side” of the island has a completely different feel and landscape than the dryer Kona side. The bright displays of vegetation, abundant waterfalls, and dramatic beauty of black sand beaches are hard to imagine until you see them in person!
Our Aloha Soul Hawaiian Yoga Retreat will include twelve practices throughout the week, with plenty of expansive, strengthening, diversely sequenced vinyasa classes, a few slower-paced practices to renew and restore, and time to explore meditation as well. I am thrilled to be working with two talented fellow teachers on this retreat, teaching assistant Sarah Winslow of Sarah Winslow Yoga and retreat assistant Courtney Bell of Cairn Yoga. I couldn’t ask for a better team!
Also included in your price will be:
1) Airport pick-up and drop-off.
2) All transportation during the retreat.
3) Three hand-picked group excursions to some of the most breathtaking and special spots on the island. I can’t wait to share these places with you!
Hawaii offers a depth of peace, fulfillment and JOY that so often exceeds expectations, and leaves one with lasting transformation. It is a magical, vibrant island that embraces visitors and seekers with deep nurturing, nourishing, healing and inspiration. The beauty of the land, the wonder of the sea and the prevailing spirit of Aloha conspire to create a feeling of home and belonging, on the island and within oneself. My wish for each of you who joins on this special journey is that you will connect with your own Aloha Soul, and hold onto that feeling for years to come.
Space is limited to 13 yogis.

~~Block Island Yoga Retreat~~
September 10-12, 2017
Savor the last days of summer with Caroline Pineau and Checka Antifonario on Block Island! If you are looking for a unique yoga weekend getaway in one of New England’s sweetest spots, this is it. Block Island is a stunning island 13 miles off the coast of Rhode Island, easily accessible by ferry. A leader in conservation, it is chock full of nature and breathtaking scenery at every turn. Visitors can venture out on a gorgeous hike or bike ride (bring your own or rent a bike or moped on island), bask in sun and stillness on one of the many pristine beaches, or peruse the downtown shops and eateries. Taxis are also readily available if you would like to explore the island’s further reaches. The mellow pace and warm hospitality of Block Island will embrace you the moment you arrive, and you will feel a world away from the hustle and bustle of the mainland. Be prepared to want to come back again and again! We have space for 20 yogis on this retreat.
The retreat will begin on Sunday, September 10. Please take either the 9:00 am or 11:00 am ferry from Point Judith so you arrive in time for our first yoga class, which will be held at St. Andrew’s Parish Center from 1:45 – 3:15 pm. After class you can check into your room (the 1661 Inn will hold your luggage should you arrive on the island early). We will reconvene for a group welcome dinner at The Oar House at 7:00 pm. Non-practicing friends or partners are most welcome to join us for dinner! On Monday the 11th, we will practice at 7:30 am and then gather for a delicious and hearty brunch buffet included in your stay with Block Island Resorts. The day is yours to fill with whatever your heart desires. We will reconvene for 4:30 pm practice and you can choose from many appealing downtown options for dinner on your own or with a group. We will awake to our last 7:30 am practice and brunch on Tuesday the 12th before making our way home!
We are partnering with Block Island Resorts for accommodations; all of their lovely properties are within walking distance of the downtown, our yoga space, and the 1661 Inn where everyone will check in and gather for brunch on Monday and Tuesday.
You are responsible for booking your own accommodations, and rooms are first come first served. Rates range from $125 to $175/night plus tax. The Guest House has rooms with shared bathrooms for $125/night. Dewey Cottage, Dodge House and Anchor House all have rooms with private bathrooms for either $150/night or $175/night. Dewey Cottage is a slightly longer walk (about 1/2 mile) from our yoga and brunch space than the other cottages. (You could always splurge on one of the brand new Mitchell or Nicholas Ball Cottages, but these will not be in the quoted price range). There are only a few rooms with two beds so we suggest reserving right away if that is a priority! You can also bring a sleeping bag or air mattress but be sure to reserve a room that is big enough to accommodate it.
It is best to check out all of the properties here, and then call 800-626-4773 to make your reservation.
They are super friendly and will answer any questions you have!
September is still a popular time to travel to Block Island, so it’s best to book your spot ahead of time. We suggest the traditional ferry from Point Judith, just $25 round trip and a one hour ride each way. You can find all general info, including additional fees to bring a bicycle or a car (which is NOT required) here: http://www.blockislandferry.com/
And here is the direct link to book a different day round trip passenger ticket: https://ticketing.blockislandferry.com/WebStore/shop/ViewItems.aspx?CG=1&C=4
Be sure to take the 9:00 am or 11:00 ferry from Point Judith to Block Island so you arrive in time for our first class.
There are several overnight parking lots near the ferry in Point Judith; cost will be around $10/day to leave your car there.
1) Make your two-night lodging reservation with Block Island Resorts.
2) Make your ferry reservation arriving Sunday 9/10 and departing Tuesday 9/12.
3) Click HERE (and look under Workshops tab) to pay retreat fee ($240 by July 1;$285 after) which includes Sunday night welcome dinner.
4) If applicable, click HERE to pay $40 welcome dinner fee for friend or partner traveling with you to Block Island and email email@example.com to let her know they plan on attending dinner.
We look forward to sharing this special weekend with you!
